Minion Cake for my little minion

This is the cake I made last year for my Kiddo's 6th Birthday. He requested for a minion themed cake so that's I decided to make. Made another chocolate cake as that's one requirement that stays constant for all of his birthdays. However the cake is covered in white chocolate butter cream & filled with chocolate fudge. Was quite happy with the end result.

1st holy Communion Cake

I made this cake for a dear friend's son's 1st Holy Communion.Making the chalice and ensuring that it stayed put was challenging. I had to insert a skewer to hold the chalice in place which worked like a charm. Piping an entire cake in Royal icing was a bit time consuming but the end result was worth all the trouble. The cake was a fruit cake covered in Marshmallow fondant.

First Holy Communion Cake

The recent cake I helped decorate for a dear friends daughter's 1st Holy Communion. Cannot take complete credit for it as it was baked by my friend . I just helped decorate it, to give it a lace applique effect. The flowers n leaves are made of fondant with royal icing string work.

Lion Themed Cake

I made this Lion Themed Cake for a dear friends son's 1st Birthday. He had a favorite Lion stuffed toy she wanted me to replicate. So this was the cake I came up with. The kids were super excited about the Lion cake topper as well as the cupcakes. It was a White Cake frosted with Butter cream & filled with Raspberry Butter cream filling covered in Fondant. Keeping my 3 year old away from the Lion topper was a task in itself ;-) I'm glad everyone liked it.

Cakes for Parish Bake sale.

I made these cakes for the bake sale held at our church for the Prison ministry to help buy holiday gifts for prisoners on death row. I usually make volunteer to make just one cake, however this year I was told the no. of bakers participating are less than usual so I thot y not bake 2. Was an exhausting task though keeping a 3yr old away from the cake toppers. But I survived it!

Farm Themed Birthday Cake

My son loves singing Old mac donald & Bingo all day long, so I thought what better than a farm themed cake to surprise him with on his 3rd Birthday. His reaction to the finished cake was "wow Mumma , Braedyn likes it". It was the first time he complimented me for my cake, which made me realize how soon my little one has grown. He could identify all of the animals & giggled every time he seen Old mac donald hiding under his hat :-) This cake turned out way better than I had expected.

Asterix obelix cake

Last week was my hubby's birthday & I made this cake as a surprise for him. Asterix, Obelix are his favorite cartoon characters, so I thot wat better than making an Asterix Obelix cake for him. I was running short of time so couldn't make Getafix Druid. Everything in the cake is edible. The characters are made using Fondant. Would have made something more elaborate if I had more time. Anyways hubby loved it & that's wat matters most :-) Also my son was the most excited about this cake.

Ballerina Cake

I had been wanting to make a cake for a long time , but cudn't seem to take time out to make one. Wanted to try this Ballerina cake with this ruffled skirt . It was a tedious task to make all these individual ruffles , but it was all worth it . I feel satisfied with the end result. The cake is a Cream cheese pound cake with blueberry buttercream filling.

Doll 1st Birthday Cake

I had made this Cake for a dear friends daughter's 1st Birthday. Had something more elaborate in mind but had to settle for something simple as my son was down with high fever & ear infection. I had just 1 night to do it all. Everything except for the doll itself is edible.

Floral Bouquet Cake

Our Church was organizing a bake sale & all the proceeds of the sale were going towards charity. I made this Bouquet of Flowers cake for the bake sale. Its a chocolate buttercream cake decorated with gumpaste flowers. It was my 1st attempt at trying most of these flowers mounted on a floral wire.It was a good learning experience trying out these gumpaste flowers. Now I need to try & work on learning to make floral sprays. The sides of the cake was made using Pepperidge Farms, Pirouette Rolled wafers.

Christmas Cake for Braedyn's First Christmas

This Christmas was special for us as a family as it was my Baby's First Christmas. Its been difficult managing Baby Braedyn & making time to do the household chores, leave alone taking time out to decorate a cake. But I somehow managed to bake my baby his first Christmas cake , all thanks to my hubby who volunteered to help me manage Braedyn.

The cake is a rich fruit cake, covered in Duff's fondant. I used the same color scheme for my cake as that of my Photo Christmas card - Red & Electric Green. The snow flakes & gift boxes are made using royal icing.

Everything except for the cake topper (pic frame) is edible.

Hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Holidays to you & your family.

The Christening Cake I made for my Little One -Braedyn

Its been a while since I've posted on update out here. For those of you who are following my blog, I'd like to introduce you to my little bundle of joy Braedyn Karson .He arrived on 13th May 2010. He's been keeping me busy & I'm enjoying playing Mommy 24x7       ;-)

Being a first time mommy isn't an easy job, hence the cake I made wasn't very elaborate. I made a christening dress themed cake. All of the accents were made of MMF & the cake was a lightfruit cake (my all time favorite).
